GSISD accepting nominations for Gifted and Talented Program Oct. 27

Grand Saline Independent School District is now accepting nominations for testing of students in Grades K-11, for the Gifted and Talented Program.

Application packets may be picked up at all campuses starting Monday, October 27, 2025.  Deadline for submitting recommendations for the program will be Friday, November 14, 2025.

For more information about the program, contact Debby Morse at 903-962-8171. The GSISD Gifted and Talented Program is open to all qualifying students grades K-12.

Nominations may be made by anyone with knowledge of the student’s academic abilities.

 

El Distrito Escolar Independiente de Grand Saline ahora está aceptando nominaciones para las pruebas de estudiantes en los grados K-11,

para el Programa De Dotados y Talentosos. Los paquetes de aplicación se pueden recoger en todos los campus.

La fecha límite para presentar las recomendaciones para el programa será el viernes 14 de noviembre de 2025.

Private Non-Profit Public Notice of Equitable Services

Grand Saline ISD is preparing to apply for federal funds under the Elementary and Secondary Education Act. Therefore, we are required under Section 1117 and Section 8501 to have a timely and meaningful consultation with private non-profit (PNP) school officials. Such consultation must occur before any decision being made that affects the opportunities for eligible private school students or teachers to participate in programs. A private non-profit is eligible to participate only if it can provide documentation of 501(c)(3) nonprofit status and the students meet program eligibility.


Grand Saline ISD is scheduled to meet at 400 Stadium Drive at 3:45 on May 14, 2025. Please confirm your participation by sending an email response to dmorse@grandsalineisd.net.

 
During this meeting Grand Saline ISD will discuss available federal programs and services for eligible private school students , parents/families and teachers to include: Title I Part A – Improving the Academic Achievement of the Disadvantaged; Title I, Part C-Migrant Education; Title II, Part A-Teacher and Principal training and Recruitment; Title III – English Language Acquisition, Language Enhancement & Academic Achievement; Title IV – Student Support & Academic Enrichment; Individuals with Disabilities Education Act-Part B (IDEA -B); and IDEA -B Preschool Program.

GSISD Student Health Committee to meet Feb. 28th

The Grand Saline ISD Student Health Advisory Committee will meet on February 28th at 9:30 a.m. in the Middle School Library. The meeting is open to anyone who wishes to attend.

Public Hearing and District Site Base meeting on February 5th at 3:45 located at the High School Library. The Texas Academic Performance Report will be reviewed.
